Looking for newborn photography sessions? I currently offer both mini and full newborn sessions. The mini newborn are photos of just the baby taken whether the baby is asleep or awake. This is done in my home studio and you have full access to all the props and wraps needed for the photos.
The full newborn session is called my Simply Beautiful Newborn Session and is a 2 hour session taken in my home studio. These are photos taken of the entire family and as well as the baby alone.
I also offer in your own home session options. How nice for you to stay in the comforts of your own home?!

Now offering "Smash" & "Splash" First Birthday Portraits | Cleveland, Ohio
I am so excited to finally be offering both “Smash and Splash” Portraits for baby’s first birthday. The smash cake photos are always oh so cute but the clean up isn't always fun. So now your little one gets a quick bubble bath after the messy cake. The tub is made for milestone photography and features a small claw foot tub. A couple tips to remember about the smash cake session. Not all babies dive in and love to eat the cake. It may be beneficial to allow the baby to sample some sweets prior to the session. Sometimes the cake and textures isn’t always appealing to the baby. If this does happen I always make the best of it and still manage to get some great portraits. After that, clean up is a breeze with a warm bubble bath. The splash photos can be a quick add on if you would like with the milestone portraits.

How to choose a Newborn Photographer! | Cleveland, Ohio | Newborn Photography
I understand choosing a photographer for anything can be time consuming and exhausting. It can still leave you wondering if you chose the right person. Here are a few things to consider when choosing a Newborn Photographer. Over the years, I’ve seen a lot from the “building a portfolio discounts” to the “my friend has a camera and will take some photos”, yikes! Newborn Photography is a skill and art that can only be mastered by continued education, practice and the right skills. Newborn Photography is by far the hardest to accomplish out of shooting any subject, but also the most rewarding:)
As an established Newborn Photographer, I am happy to say I’ve dedicated many continuing educating hours in the terms of handling, posing, safety and editing. So your final images are Professional. Thats what you are paying for after all. Not to mention my educational background includes being a BSN Registered Nurse. So my concern for Newborn Safety is always #1 for me. Many people don't know that some of the images you may see floating on the internet or instagram actual takes a village to create. Because having a baby sitting up is simply unsafe and impossible to achieve. Many of those images you may see are a used with holding the baby’s head and tons of photoshop magic.
I am also happy to say I’m a fully certified and accredited for Safety in Newborn Photography. This is key when choosing a Newborn Photographer. Have they taken the extra steps and education to become certified? Just because someone is great with social media posts, or has tons of followers you still need to do your research and ask those questions. After all Newborn photos are time sensitive, best to be done within 2 weeks of life. And after all you can only get these photos once.
I also recommend checking out the reviews before you decide on a photographer. These are actual families that took time out of their busy schedule to help future families choose a photographer.
As of right now there are no laws that distinguish a Newborn Photographer from a hobbyist. Anyone can pick up a camera, make a quick website and take photos. I hope my tips provided you with some reassurance when choosing the best Newborn Photographer for your family.

Welcoming a baby into your home whether its your first or fourth is such an important time in your life. Documenting this time with your new baby is just as important. I usually recommend to families to research and book newborn photos more sooner than later. Most Newborn Photographers start booking out up to 6 months out. These photos are also very time sensitive and is best to be taken between day 5-and day 15 of life. When booking a newborn session with Danelle Joy Photography, a lot of the stress is taken away all you need to do is show up to the shoot;). I provide everything needed for the newborn shots such as wraps, outfits and hair ties. With each newborn session the parent and family sessions are always included as well.
I offer the simply beautiful newborn session which takes place in my home studio or I can travel to your home and bring everything with me. You don’t even need to leave once coming home from the hospital.

I am so excited to now be offering Smash & Splash Photography for babies first year portraits. I have been doing smash cake photography for many years now but have always found the clean up to be daunting. Especially with the awesome butter cream frosting and bright blue colors. So here is the perfect win win situation with a bubble bath following their smash cake. With tons of pictures of course!
The bubble bath photos are taken with the backdrops as well and is a small clawfoot bathtub especially designed for 1 year photos. Then you get to go home with a happy and clean baby!

Happy New Year! I am now booking for 2021 Newborn Photography Sessions! I offer many different options to help meet everyones needs. My Simply Beautiful Newborn Session is $400 and is a 2 hour session that takes place in my home studio. This is for the newborn, mom, dad and siblings. You also receive all of the images taken from that session, usually about 40 plus photos. You get full access to all of my newborn wraps, outfits, props etc needed for the shoot. All you need to do is show up with a smile :)
If you are just in need of a quick session, I also offer a petite newborn session for $300 and that is a 1 hour session. This includes 15 images with the option to purchase more prints or digitals. If you are interested in a Maternity shoot, if booked together you’ll receive 10% off!

This year has really turned out to be a real Merry Grinchmas. But that doesn’t mean we still can’t have fun with Santa. Many people are choosing to skip the lines at the mall with Santa due to all the restrictions. I mean who wants their pictures taken with a plexiglass Santa?! I’m now offering a safe alternative for Santa Photos 2020! Its so easy and can be done without you leaving the comforts of your home. Just email me a good high resolution image and I will create a beautiful Santa composite. The cost is $15 for 1 digital Santa photo. You may choose from Old Time Vintage Santa or Traditional Santa! The Wonder of Fall | Fall Mini Sessions | Cleveland Ohio | Northeast Ohio
This years fall colors really have been quite beautiful. Add on the warm weather with the gold, yellow and red leaves and it made for the perfect fall in September and October. These two months are also a favorite month of mine to hold my fall mini sessions. What are fall mini sessions compared to regular sessions? Throughout the year I always hold a regular and petite session for those who are in need of shots. Those sessions are typical 1 hour or 30 minutes for the petite. They can often be 1 hour before sunset and are less rushed more fun and creative with the family.
However, my mini sessions which are only offered a few times a year are 20 minute sessions and scheduled in blocks of time. So they are a bit more rushed and more quick photos (a little less time to be super creative). But they are perfect for those who only want a few updated photos of the family or have little kids who they know won't sit still for longer than 20 minutes. My minis always have a full gallery sent of 25 images and you have the option to choose your favorite 10 images.

Red Truck Mini Sessions | Fall Photography | Cleveland, Ohio | Lake County Ohio
Nothing says fall like brightly colored leaves, crisp air, apples and a bright red antique truck! My red truck minis this year were so much for the fall season and gave my clients a little something different this time. The red truck was decked out in pumpkins, pillows, mums and blankets, the perfect set for some quick fall photos. My special mini session are only held a few times throughout the year. They are usually a special themed event such as red truck, pumpkin farm, local park and Christmas tree farm. They are special since I usually bring more props and decor with the shoot along with a special theme. Who doesn’t love Disney!? Isn’t that a silly question anyway! I always try to do something special for my Newborn families by adding in a special photo that takes some pixie dust and magic. Hooray for turning 1 | Milestone Photography | Cake Smash | Northeast Ohio
Your child's first year flys by so very quickly. I’m sure you are asking yourself, how are they turning 1 years old already!? They do grow so very quickly, which makes documenting this time even more important. Wouldn’t it be fun celebrating their first birthday with a custom cake smash and first birthday photo session?! Your child's session will include a custom design that we plan together! I will proved the balloons and props to use during your session.
I also offer the full milestone session which includes the planning of the session and 40 digital images. I also offer a mini milestone which is a quick 30 minute session and 10 digital images with copyright to the photos. You are responsible for bringing the smash cake.

Maternity Session at Sunset | Horse Farm | Newborn Photography | Northeast Ohio
A few ingredients of my favorite things would include a horse farm, golden hour and photography. I was lucky enough to have all three at my most recent Maternity Shoot. This shoot took place in Concord Township, Ohio on a beautiful horse farm tucked away on many acres of land. I was so happy to get my horse fill while I was there and visit some of the beauties in the stalls.
The main benefit of on location Maternity Photography Sessions, they can take place exactly where you always dreamt your picture would be. Over the years I’ve done many parks, private homes, urban places, beach and now the horse farm.

Always worth the wait | Newborn Photography | Cleveland, Ohio | Lake County, Ohio
“Always worth the wait” is saying it in simple terms once your bundle of joy has finally arrived. Those 9 months of worry, waiting and anticipation quickly fades away once your sweet little one is place in your warm arms. Newborn photography has quickly become a favorite of mine over the years because of 4 children of my own I understand how quickly those younger (and exhausting) years take place. Honestly, a newborn only seems so itty bitty those first few weeks of life and before you know it they are a month old. A lot more alert, moving and possibly keeping you up at night;)
In regards to newborn photography I do offer a full signature session and my petite newborn session. My most popular package is by far the signature full session. This session is 2 hrs and takes place in my home studio. Due to Covid I have taken extreme caution and sanitation measures in order to keep everyone safe. With the full session, I recommend the photos take place within the first 2 weeks of life. At that age its easier for me to sooth and calm the back to sleep which is needed for some newborn posing.

Beautiful Maternity Session at Chagrin River Park | Cleveland, Ohio
It has been so nice to be back at Photography full swing after the shutdown in March and April due to Covid. I have seen so many beautiful mamas to be. This beautiful maternity session took place at one of my favorite parks near Willoughby, Ohio, Chagrin River Park. This park offers so many of favorites that equal a successful shoot. A beautiful walking trail, large bridge and of course the river. It was so much to venture down to the river right before sunset and photography this cute couple.

It was a brisk but beautiful day for maternity photos that took place in early march. This sweet couple traveled all the way up to Ohio from Georgia to visit family. I was so honored they chose me for their maternity shoot while back in town. This also took place right before the country was bracing itself for covid 19. I was so happy we could finish the session and they traveled safely back to home prior to the country staying safe at home.
