There’s just something magical about family sessions at the beach—especially when it’s during golden hour! This extended family session at Huntington Beach in Bay Village, Ohio was full of laughter, connection, and the kind of warm light that makes every moment feel timeless.

As the sun began to set over Lake Erie, the sky glowed in shades of pink and gold—creating the perfect backdrop for this beautiful family gathering. Huntington Beach is one of my favorite spots for extended family sessions because it offers a little bit of everything: sandy shores for barefoot portraits, the lake for dreamy reflections, and that classic Cleveland sunset that never disappoints.

This family came together to celebrate being all in one place—a mix of grandparents, siblings, cousins, and kids who were full of energy and love. We started with classic group shots that captured everyone together, then broke off into smaller family groupings and candid moments. The kids ran along the shoreline, the grandparents shared sweet hugs, and we even snuck in a few playful photos as the sun dipped below the horizon.

What I love most about extended family sessions is how they tell a bigger story. It’s more than just a photo—it’s a memory of generations together, a moment in time that everyone will look back on with joy.

As the light faded and the waves gently rolled in, this session ended with laughter echoing across the beach and the perfect closing shot—silhouettes of the whole family against a glowing Lake Erie sunset.
